South Smallburgh seat
I have lived in North Norfolk my whole life. The Norfolk broads and the local communities are very special and important to me. Having grown up in Horning I value the qualities and natural beauty that these places have to offer and of course, the warm-hearted people.
These communities have inspired me to be dedicated in local issues and I am to be representing my local village as a parish councillor and District Councillor for St. Benet ward (Horning and Ludham).
I was elected as District Councillor in 2019 and have dedicated time to establishing myself within the community and as a compassionate and personable representative for everyone who needs support.
I have worked closely with residents and the Parish Councils, lobbying on their behalf on planning and environmental issues. I have been committed to helping residents with any issues they have, offering support and advice and acting on their behalf.
I have tackled a variety of issues during this time, including dealing with anti-social behaviour and working closely with the community and housing associations to resolve this.
I have been involved in planning applications, ensuring that the community’s comments and views were heard and lobbying for sustainable developments, whilst still maintaining the historical integrity of the overall area.
I have made community groups aware of the various funding options available to them and helping with this process.
I was inspired to get into community politics because of the fantastic work of local Councillor Barbara McGoun and of course, Norman Lamb. Both have offered their support and I consider them mentors. I have tried my best to emulate their ethos, bringing my own integrity and enthusiasm to the role and the local community.
Sir Norman offered a few sentences in support; “Adam is an exceptional campaigner and dedicated local representative. I saw for myself just how committed Adam is to his local community. He is always willing to go the extra mile for people. Adam would be a brilliant County Councillor for this area.”
I am very honoured to be able to stand for South Smallburgh Division and want to continue the same high level of dedication to this role and listen to resident’s issues and lobby on important matters such as Child and Adult Social Care, Education, Highways and Transport etc.
Being in a rural community can lead to residents facing a unique set of challenges and I am fully aware of this matter and having spent my time as District Councillor to lobby on their behalf and now want to continue this at the County Council level.
Please consider donating and voting for me this May. I want to make your voice heard; reminding County that our communities are so important and that we want our Parishes to be represented when making policies.
