Thorpe St Andrew Seat
I have lived in Thorpe St Andrew, with my husband - Liberal Democrat activist Victor Scrivens, since moving here from Surrey in 2004.
A member of the Liberal Democrat Party for many decades, I volunteered as Branch Secretary in Farnham, heading up many fundraising campaigns. I have also worked for local government, including as a Town Manager and as secretary to the Surrey County Association of Parish and Town Councillors.
Since my move to Norfolk, I have achieved an MA in Creative Non-Fiction at the UEA, leading directly to a new life as a published biographer and public speaker, with a keen interest in local history. Over the past six years, I have visited many villages and towns in our beautiful and diverse county, on account of being invited to talk about my books to scores of Norfolk community groups.
It would be an honour to serve as a Norfolk County Councillor, representing residents and neighbours in this delightful riverside town.
