Prioritising Our Environment

Climate change is real and in Norfolk's case it threatens our very existence. It cannot be ignored any longer.

Offshore wind farmA Liberal Democrat led County Council will place the environment at the heart of everything we do and protect our special part of the country.

If elected this may we will:

Make Norfolk Carbon Neutral

By taking the lead and working with partners and communities with the aim of making all of Norfolk carbon neutral by 2030, not just the County Council.

Upgrade Home Insulation

By creating a team within the council tasked with making sure 50% of rural households are fully upgraded by 2025 and the rest by 2030. This will bring down energy bills for local families.

Fund Green Flood Prevention

By increasing funding for environmentally-friendly flood prevention work, creating more rewilding and biodiversity schemes and planting more trees to clean up our air.

Emelye Harvey, Liberal Democrat candidate for Acle said, "Norfolk County Council must take the lead on the climate crisis. We will work tirelessly to ensure we're carbon neutral, as a county, by 2030."
